THE
WINE AGENCY
A chance encounter at EMIF with a familiar face enabled
me to discover another great alternative to the traditional
business gifts or events: TheWineAgency!
He lost a little bit of his hair but definitely none of
the Gallic charm: Thierry Durand, formerly of Conrad Hotels,
may have left the hotel industry, but he most certainly
is still anchored firmly with both feet in the hospitality
business.
Having married into a well established Belgian wine family,
Thierry decided to make his passion for wines and ‘savoir
vivre’ into a fulltime occupation and started TheWineAgency
about a year ago. It is the answer to the high quality demands
of companies that have an event oriented communication strategy.
TheWineAgency combines fine wines and gastronomy in an efficient
and original way.
Thierry’s more than 20 year experience in the top
hotels of the world has made him a good judge of discreet
yet first class quality, and gave him insight in the needs
and requirements for refined entertainment on a corporate
level.
The four pillars on which rest the Agency are the sale of
fine wines, business gifts, food & wine events and vineyard
tours. All their products have been developed specifically
for the demanding corporate clientele and therefore correspond
exactly to expectations of impeccable quality, perfect presentation
and incomparable service.
At TheWineAgency, Thierry and his team are very aware that
each client has his own specific requirements and make it
a point of honor to not only guaranty first class service
but also make it each time into a unique experience that
corresponds to all the client’s expectations, as little
or as large as they may be.
Having attended a wine tasting at the company premises,
where Thierry and his charming wife and brother in law guided
us through some truly remarkable wines, I can honestly say
that it was a great pity that I was driving that night ….I
was sorely tempted by some exquisite wines and vintages
and not only appreciated tasting them, but also enjoyed
listening to the professional, without being too overwhelming,
explanations. The tasty buffet was welcome after a first
round of white wines. Personally I left the thorough tasting
for my companion and stopped after falling head over heals
for a great Sancerre “Les Romains” 2006, even
the lovely bubbles of a good champagne could not deter me
from going back …for an extra taste of this smooth
as silk wine, a discovery and even at a reasonable price!
I’ll be back!
